Hunter D. Cook

Licensed Professional Counselor & Approved Clinical Supervisor
Serving Tennessee & Virginia via Telehealth

Do you remember a time when you weren’t constantly striving for perfection, you felt okay saying “no,” or that nagging feeling of “never enough” wasn’t always there? Now, whether those days feel like a distant memory or the shift has been more recent, don’t you wish you had the tools to change that?

You’ve come to the right place.

I’m Hunter Cook, and I help anxious, perfectionistic, people pleasing adults just like you: ones that have it within them to live with less pressure and have more genuine connection with the ones that they care about, but just need the support to get there. I help my clients find (greater self-acceptance, inner calm, and a stronger sense of worth) by equipping them with the tools they need to understand the roots of their patterns and develop healthier ways of relating to themselves and others.

Frustrated with Therapy Not Working?
Many of today’s solutions for feeling “never enough,” burnout, and disconnected are often generalized and don’t address the nuances and underlying traumas driving perfectionism and people-pleasing, leading so many to feel frustrated by a lack of real progress or like they’re still carrying the weight of their struggles. I know that your circumstances are unique, so our work together will be tailored to your specific experiences and goals.

How I can help
First, we will explore the ingrained patterns that are causing the constant pressure and feeling of “never enough” you’re experiencing. Then, we build self-compassion and develop strategies for setting boundaries with yourself and others and managing stress that will be most effective for you. Through our work together, you’ll be empowered to live with more ease, connect authentically, and recognize your inherent “enoughness”.
I am dedicated to helping people break free from the cycle of perfectionism, people pleasing, feeling “never enough,” and thrive.

With my training in understanding anxiety, stress, and the impact of trauma, as well as proven effective therapeutic means, I have the expertise you need and deserve when healing the underlying causes of your burnout and disconnection. But at the end of the day, you want to know you’re working with someone who “gets” what it means to be someone who feels “never enough,” struggling with perfectionism and people-pleasing, right?
